Just Get To First Base Everyday

Here’s an important message for any personal trainer interested in passive income: when it’s time to stop consuming and start producing, focus on creating multiple products and aim for just one or two sales a day. That’s all it takes. Marketing expert Ryan Lee puts it this way: “You don’t need to hit a home run with every product. I’ll take doubles and singles all day long, thank you very much!”

Of course, I’d love to hit a grand slam with one of my books, but not everyone is going to have Fifty Shades of Grey success. A steady stream of daily doubles or singles is enough, and if you have multiple products doing this consistently, you’ll achieve long-term success.

A former professor of mine at York University and one of my mentors, Dr. Tudor Bompa, published 14 books that were translated into 18 languages and used in over 180 countries. His book sales reached 160,000 in the U.S. and Canada and 750,000 worldwide. Even if he made only $1 per sale—a low estimate, since most authors earn more per unit—that would still be close to a million dollars.

That said, if you think writing books will make you a millionaire, think again. It won’t happen. But if all your products generate at least $1,000 in passive income each month, it can make a big difference in your lifestyle. You could afford organic food and grass-fed meats, a nicer car, extra massages, regular restaurant visits, occasional weekend getaways, and more.

Writing a book doesn’t have to take ten years like my first one did. You can finish it in less than three months if you’re committed. I explain exactly how to do it in The Business of Personal Training. It’s not that difficult.

So get started. Create something valuable, put it out there, and keep rounding the bases one hit at a time.
